On assignment, a journalist travels from Yekaterinburg to a lost settlement deep in the wild forests, where he hears an ancient legend about the lord of the forest. When he returns home, he suddenly sees and hears this ancient spirit, who asks him to save the vanishing fantastic beings. The journalist cannot remain indifferent to this call, and together with her 12-year-old daughter, who has come from Moscow for a vacation, she sets off for a distant land almost untouched by civilization.
