A remote village in Roman Egypt is plunged into spiritual warfare when a carpenter, his wife and children become targets of supernatural forces. Joseph, Mary and their young son Jesus have lived under threat for years, clinging to their faith and traditions. But a brief respite in a small settlement unleashes growing chaos when a mysterious stranger tempts young Jesus to abandon the rules of his devout father. As the son is drawn into a forbidden world with each call of temptation, a terrified Joseph realizes that a demonic force is at work. Violent and supernatural events inexplicably haunt Jesus, who begins to have nightmarish visions of the future.
