Synopsis:

Inviting us to rethink man's relationship with nature in a world on the brink of environmental catastrophe, Tomas Elšík's moving documentary follows Pavel and Klara. Pavel is committed to protecting the fragile ecosystems of the spring meadows, while Klára is unable to reconcile with the destructive traces of humanity and, together with her faithful dogs Viky and Irbis, roams the land to detect and neutralize deadly bait traps that threaten wildlife. Blurring the boundaries between documentary and fiction, The Power to Endure is both an environmental detective story and a philosophical inquiry into man's domination of nature. It quietly reminds us of the price of the desire to dominate nature: We may never regain the lost balance. Through the intersecting journeys of these two people, The Power to Endure depicts the bond between man and nature in a visually mesmerizing language and asks the following questions: Can we reawaken our dormant senses and learn to see the world as an interconnected whole? Is it possible for man to change his attitude of superiority over nature?
