The movie follows the events that unfold when Wren, upset that she has seen less and less of her childhood friends over the years, tells a lie she can't handle in order to be closer to her friends like she used to be.
Wren, Laurel, Cece and Jill have been best friends since childhood, but the responsibilities of growing up have begun to separate them. Wren, unable to keep up with her old friends, is almost at a standstill in her development and responsibility. The childhood friends attend a birthday celebration together. Wren, who can't shake puberty, tells his friends a lie he can't handle, partly because he's had too much to drink and partly to attract attention. Wren immediately realizes her mistake, but she is unable to go back on her lie.
