The Piano Teacher tells the story of Erika Kohut, a piano teacher at the Vienna Conservatory. Erika, in her early forties, escapes from the home she shares with her mother through regular visits to porn theaters and peep shows that have a powerful hold on her. Her sexuality reaches the levels of a pathological voyeurism and masochistic self-harm. As Erika’s life takes a completely different turn, one of her students one day sets his sights on seducing her.
